Alain Hepner, KC

For forty years, Alain Hepner K.C., has been defending clients at every level of the Canadian
justice system, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Mr. Hepner graduated from the
University of Alberta Faculty of Law in 1975. He was called to the Bar in 1976, and he received
the designation of the Queen's Counsel in 1989. Over those forty years Mr. Hepner’s
experience and geniality have earned him a sterling reputation within the Calgary Defence Bar
Association, the Calgary Crown Prosecutors Office, and the Calgary Police Service.

Mr. Hepner is the recipient of numerous legal awards and honours and is a member of the
American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL) and has appeared before administrative tribunals,
such as the Alberta Review Board, has served on the Board of Directors for Legal Aid Alberta
and was a Bencher for the Law Society of Alberta. He is also retained by the Calgary Police
Association to defend police officers being investigated or charged with criminal allegations.
