Conrad Nemeth

Conrad joined the Vancouver Police Department in 2012 after finishing education from the University of Victoria in English and History, then a Masters of English Literature from the University of Wales. Initially working as a patrol officer in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, in 2018, he joined the Major Crime Section as a detective, first the Robbery, Arson and Assault Unit, and in 2021, the Homicide Unit. Conrad has led significant homicide investigations including the apprehension of a hitman in rural Alberta connected to Vancouver’s lower mainland gang conflict, as well as a lead investigator for the Lapu Lapu Mass Casualty investigation.

Conrad has instructed the VPD Forensic Interviewing course since 2021, and serves as a guest lecturer at Kwantlen university, where he speaks on police investigations. He is a long-time member of the VPD Public Safety Unit, the VPD Forensic Interview and Assistance Team, and the VPD Police Athletic League. Conrad has been the recipient of numerous chief and deputy commendations, primarily related to project-based policing initiatives targeting violent offenders. Outside of his professional life, Conrad lives in North Vancouver with his wife and young daughter, and enjoys travelling, snowboarding and spending time with his family.
