Biography
Mark Ruggieri has served as a Crime and Intelligence Analyst with CPS for 10 years, including the past seven years with the Homicide Unit. Prior to this role, he brought his expertise to the Cybercrime Team and the Child Abuse Unit and held strategic positions with both the Edmonton Police Service and Alberta Justice & Solicitor General.
Mark’s experience has led to a specialization in the technical aspects of criminal investigations, with extensive knowledge of geospatial analysis, cellular data analysis, and digital device extractions. He plays a key role in supporting investigators by interpreting complex data, producing detailed reports, and clearly communicating technical concepts and investigative findings. His work has contributed to more than 100 homicide investigations and has been used by investigators, Crown Prosecutors, and in court during at least 10 criminal trials. Mark has also helped develop and deliver specialized training for crime analysts in cellular data analysis and court testimony.
