Chris Vermette

Det. Chris Vermette is a member of the Calgary Police Service with more than 26 years of experience. Currently, he is assigned to the Homicide Unit – Cold Case Team with a focus on historical missing persons and unidentified human remains cases.

Throughout his career, Det. Vermette has held various investigative roles, including with the General Investigation Unit, Homicide Unit and had involvement in several operations related to organized crime homicides.

After a short tenure as supervisor of the Missing Persons Team from 2020 to 2022, Det. Vermette recognized an urgency to invest in historical cases, and with that, came a transition back to the Homicide Unit.
